Introducing the cover for REAL QUEER AMERICA

As a Twin Peaks fan, I wanted a cover for Real Queer America that featured a neon sign—and I got one, thanks to an amazing designer at Little, Brown. Gaze upon its beauty! I like that the image—and the color scheme—is Americana through and through, and yet there’s the word “Queer” right there in unapologetic letters on the front. In many ways, that juxtaposition is a perfect visual summary of the book’s thesis that “real America” has always been a queer country. I hope you love it just as much as I do. (And as amazing as it looks here in high-resolution, it looks even better in person, so I’d encourage you to pre-order a nice hardcover copy if you can.)
